CCP CEO Hellmar interview at Edinburgh Interactive Festival
Gamespot managed to catch up with CCP's CEO Hilmar Petursson at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, where he was giving a talk on EVE and showing off some nice videos.
If you're not an EVE player you may not be aware that CCP have hired an economist from an Icelandic University - not only will he be giving input on the economy, but he'll also be publishing quarterly reports on the state of the game economy. It's a pretty powerful and complex environment, and it's good to see CCP taking it so seriously.
EVE Mobile is something that's been talking about for a while a long time now - personally I can't wait for it, although I can see that CCP are pretty snowed under, and game issues always take priority over new features. It will be damn cool when it is released though.
Part of the longevity of EVE is not just the intense immersive aspect, but the openess, eagerness, and involvement of CCP - at all levels, not just the developers. It comes across from Hilmar's interviews, but all of CCP are just a great bunch - honest, enthusiastic, and 6 years after starting on it, still really really fired up about EVE.
