Guild Wars: Nightfall
The latest chapter in the Guild Wars saga, Nightfall, is now out. Those of you who've played the Prophecies campaign may remember the desert land of Elonia. Now Nightfall brings you the full grandeur of Elonia - and with it come a slew of welcome game enhancements.
Chief among these are Heroes - special henchmen who can be unlocked by completing special quests. You can have up to three Heroes in your party, and once you've unlocked a Hero you can pick and choose to complement your party's loadout.
Not only Heroes will gain XP and level up with you, but you can also direct them on the battlefield, allowing for much more tactical control than with henchmen.
You can also customise weapons for your Heroes, add Runes to their armour, and acquire new skills for them, as well as modifying their skill bar to suit your needs.
With Heroes, Nightfall adds extra depth to the already rich Guild Wars experience, and fixes the common complaints about Henchmen.

EVE: Revelations
The cold war is starting to heat up in the EVE universe, with the release of the latest free expansion, Revelations.
New ships, skills, and items are just a part of the shakeup. All ships now have special 'rig' slots, allowing you to salvage materials from the wrecks of destroyed spacecraft, and build special effect rigs to fit to your ship. This takes ship customisation to a new level - by making it more difficult to guess what sort of loadout another player has, combat is a far more difficult and fraught affair.
A big defensive buff to all ships makes combat longer and more involved, and the new R&D skills and techniques will keep the tradesmen busy for a long time to come.
Add new battleships and battlecruisers to the mix, and the complex and involving universe of EVE just got a lot more challenging.
