If you play First Person Shooter games its a fairly safe bet that you have played or do play Counter Strike, the most popular and well known "shoot 'em up" game in history. With such a huge following we think its about time The Aubergine Room featured a Counter Strike: Source season. So, starting at 6pm on Sunday 30th April The Aubergine Room is playing host to a 8 week long CS:S Leader Board.

FPS players from our ever growing community can come down and test their mettle against their fellow Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists to see who can claw their way to the top of the body pile amidst the gunfire and high explosive grenades, and emerge victorious. To stand triumphant at the end of the Season, with a gun in one hand and 1st place prize in the other.

Think you're good at Counter Strike? Come down to The Aubergine Room, prove you're the best, claim the prize and pride of place as number one on the Leader Board.

Theres going to be several big prizes up for grabs and, best of all, a permanent place as The Aubergine Room CS:S champion - complete with a trophy.

Stay tuned and watch this place for updates leading up to Sunday. Or come on down to the Aubergine room and hone those Counter Strike skills. Be sure to ask staff about the full details of the CS:S Leader Board.

The session times will be spread out over 2 months, from 30th April until the 30th June, allowing everyone a chance to take part when it most suits them.

Weekly sessions will be held every:

We have a range of very exciting high value prizes. At the end of each session we will record the total kills (minus deaths) of each player, and enter the details on to the website. At the end of the season the top five highest scores will win a selection of great prizes - including day passes, MP3 players, and digital cameras.

Everyone who takes part and gets a kill will get a lotto ticket, and be entered into a grand draw at the end. So even if you can't make every session you can still be in with a change to win a prize!

Factions now live

Guild Wars: Factions is now live to those lucky few who have pre-ordered the game, and open to everyone else from 7am Friday.

A huge amount of new content is now opened up, some of which is available to players of the original Guild Wars: Prophecies campaign. The new characters as well as over 90 new skills (including new Elite skills) brings new depth to this great game.

If you want to see what Factions is like, come along on Sunday and check it out with the rest of The Aubergine Room Guild.

Look out for exclusive Factions goodies for sale in the centre. These are items that you cannot buy in the shops - we'll have a range of items available over the next few weeks, so pop in and check them out!

Extended opening hours this Monday

Just a reminder that this Monday is a Bank Holiday - as usual we'll have our holiday opening times, and will be open from 10am until 9pm.
