IRC - Internet Relay Chat
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a live chat area of the Internet in which real-time conversations among two or more people take place via special software. IRC is considered another part of the technology of the Internet the same way FTP, Telnet and the Web are - it's been around since the early days of the Internet.
It works in much the same way as IM services like MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, or AOL Instant Messaging. With your client, you connect to a channel, and can then chat to everyone else who is in the channel with you.
At theaubergineroom we run our own channel - #theaubergineroom on Quakenet. If you're familiar with IRC, why not come and join us?
How to connect
At theaubergineroom all our machines have the vIRC client software installed on them. Our quick tutorial will show you how easy it is to join us in #theaubergineroom and start using IRC.

How to use the bot
Bots are scripts, which sit in the channel and offer several services. Our bot is pretty advanced and has a lot of features available for you to use, all by using normal IRC commands.
