It's our anniversary!
Hard to believe it's been a year since we opened our doors, but yes - this coming Thursday 3rd August will make our first full year of being open.
We're planning to celebrate in style with a very special all nighter. As well as the usual games, competition, and mayhem, we're going to have some unique and special games and prizes.
To mark the end of our first year with a real bang, we're lined up several special things, the like of which will never be seen in the centre again!
This promises to be our best event yet - demand has already been high even before we announced a date! Our price is £25 for the night. If you want to guarantee a place, you must have a £10 non-refundable deposit handed in before Tuesday 1st August. Places cannot be guaranteed after then, so act quickly!
Check our forums for details of some very special matches which will be played on the night!
Make sure you and your friends get a place for another fun event - forward them this newsletter and let them know what's going on!
New games for all!
We've just rolled out some new games, with a decided flight sim bent for all of you who like to play with their joysticks.
X-Wing Alliance is the pinnacle of the long list of superb Star Wars simulations to come from LucasArts.
The Battle of Yavin and The Battle of Endor are two independent Star Wars simulations. They've been written from scratch, and not only are superb fun, but also present some of the most challenging game play you've come across.
Finally, we've also installed the ScummVM adventure game engine. Back in the 90s LucasArts defined the point and click graphical adventure genre with a series of ground breaking classics like Sam and Max, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Full Throttle, Maniac Mansion - the list goes on!
Using ScummVM we're now got a selection of these famous brain-bending adventure games for you to try. Fancy helping a psychopathic rabbit solve a murder? Or how about guiding Indy to victory against the Nazis in the ruins of Atlantis? Or maybe you want to help Guybrush Threepwood shoo away the dancing monkeys and outfox the villainous pirate LeChuck?
There's a challenge there for everyone. The question is - are you to up it?
