A good few years ago when I worked at a dot-com in London I used to cycle every day. Ride up to the station, throw the bike on the train, get out at Waterloo, and hack through the traffic to the office. It was about 18 miles every day, come rain, come shine.

Good times.

Then South West Trains decided that encouraging people to use public transport didn't in fact mean letting them take their bikes, and stopped you bringing a bike on to a train that was arriving or leaving Waterloo during the rush hour.
