From the latest Dev blog here comes the news that Invention in EVE is going to undergo some changes.

About time too, quite frankly. If you can assemble the components and get the skills for the invention process, why on earth are the results random? Once these changes are made, you'll be able to focus your invention on a specific outcome.

CCP have pushed out the Revelations 2.1.1 patch today, which address some pretty nasty crashes which came in with 2.1.

2.1.1 will take the client build to 35183 - the fixes are:

• The memory leak, most visible when autopilot jumping long distances, has been plugged.
• The game client no longer randomly crashes because of network traffic.
• Character portraits that normally appear in the chat window are no longer deleted from the user's cache upon starting the game client.
  
  

This weekend CCP will be running stress tests on Singularity during the normal Tranquility Downtime, 11.00-12.00 GMT. If you're able to, the please log in to Singularity on both Saturday, 21 July and Sunday, 22 July.

As an added incentive, the Devs will be flying around in FD-MLJ, presenting some inviting targets.

However, as an added twist, they've said they will be flying Jove ships! So not only a good fight, but you can check out the weapons and abilities of the reclusive Jove.

In an effort to try and test their latest performance tweaks with some serious load, CCP are inviting everyone to join them in a Starbase attack on the Singularity test server.

The attack will take place between 11:00 and 12:00 GMT on Sunday 8th July. Log in, join the channel "starbaseattack", and head on over to the FD-MLJ. The attack will start at 11:00 GMT, so make sure you're in the systema and properly equipped by then.

The Revelation 2.01 patch has been successfully deployed. It's a short quick update to the EVE client, and contains a fair few minor bug fixes.

After a discussion with dilbert about eve I come looking for a more definative answer.

For runnign Eve online what are the minimum specs that you need, the reason I ask is my desktop died :( and I am looking into playing eve and am wondering it it will play on my laptop (Plus who wouldn't want to play eve on the move!!)
