I'm a big Guild Wars fan. The story is good and the graphics are great, but beyond that, the actual game design is excellent.

Unlike most online games, Guild Wars has no monthly fee. You buy the game, enter the key code during setup, and away you go. Check out the Play.com and Game links on our website - you can pick up Guild Wars chapters very cheaply. Or, buy a copy from the centre, and get a free day pass along with it!

Just a quick reminder to everyone that the Eye of the North Sneak Peek weekend starts *this Friday*. It's only £4 from the online store to get the pre-release pack, which is a lot of value when you consider that it gives you 72 hours playtime over the coming Bank Holiday weekend. Remember that all XP, items, skills, missions etc. are kept - you'll be able to get a good jump on everyone else, and keep everything you find as well.

With the Eye of the North expansion due to be released at the end of the month, the sneek peek weekend over the August Bank Holiday is getting closer.

ArenaNet have announced that they are changing the way Favour of the Gods works. Originally, the Favour of the Gods was granted to one region of players, depending on events in the Hall of Heroes. When a team of characters defended the Hall five consecutive times, all players from that region gained the favor of the Gods.

You've probably seen the messages pop up occasionally - "so-and-so beats blah-team in the Hall of Heroes. To capture the Favour of the Gods, Europe must beat the US 3 more times"

Once your region had the Favour of the Gods, you got two things:

Apparently there were severe latency issues for many people trying to take part in the Dragon Festival this year. It seems like ArenaNet have had serious numbers of complaints about this, as they are running the Dragon Festival again.

There will be a comlete re-run of the entire event from 7am GMT on Friday August 10th. The Dragon Arena, Rollerbeetle Racing, and Shing Jea Boardwalk will all be available.

Gamespot managed to grab ArenaNet's co-founder Jeff Strain at the recent Develop conference in Brighton.

Before helping to start ArenaNet, Jeff was a team lead at Blizzard, working on World of Warcraft, as well as a programmer working on the Starcraft and Diablo team. He knows his stuff ;-)

I'm not a huge Guild Wars fan (I'm a WoW person myself!)- but I have played it a fair bit - and as you may know there is a new expansion pack coming out on the 31st of August, but looking on www.vgblogger.com it looks like pre ordering it would be a better idea than waiting for it!
