Gold plated McBook Pro the ultimate in bling
Submitted by TAR Tom on Sat, 29/09/2007 - 8:46am. hacking | hardware | macIn case mobiles covered in Swarovski crystal wasn't enough, ComputerChoppers are offering to plate your McBook Pro in 24 carat gold, for around £700.
As you can see from looking on their site, they do a really good job - completely taking apart the machine, painting and re-etching the keyboard, the works.
For an extra fee you can get the Apple logo encrusted with diamonds.
I want to see someone replace the aluminium with titanium so we don't have to put up with the constant dings and scratches. My TiBook was a great laptop :-(

yahooHacking the Xbox
Submitted by TAR Tom on Thu, 23/08/2007 - 9:09am. hacking | mod chips | xbmc | XBOXI'm not normally a huge fan of Microsoft's products - not by a long shot - but their entire foray into the world of consoles has been an interesting one. The original Xbox turned out to be a pretty decent system, with some great titles on it.
What really endears the Xbox to me, though, is it's hackability.
A whole range of modchips came out that really enchanced the abilities of what was an already impressive system. Having a hard drive and networking as standard was just too PC-like to be ignored, and the modding community rose to the challenge.
