The Xbox 360 classic, Geometry Wars, is now available to play on our centre PCs, via the dark majiks of Steam.

Like all really great games, Geometry Wars is pretty straightforward - fly a spaceship around, blow up shapes, don't die. WASD keys move your ship, the mouse moves the gun (like a tank the gun can move 360 degrees, independently of the direction you're moving/facing).

A simple concept - but you'll soon find yourself tackling hordes of enemies who run away when you move towards them, bombs, gravity traps, weapons upgrades - it's great!

In time for the weekend, and despite the magical lies of 'guaranteed pre-order delivery dates' - Halo 3 is now available for play on the big screen plasma in the centre.

Come in, give it a go, and let us know what you think. So far we're very impressed with it - it's a solid sequel to Halo 2, and has far more of the fun elements that made the original Halo such a smash hit.

With the release of the Eye of the North expansion today, I'm pleased to announce that it is available to play in the centre. If you log in with our centre account, you'll have access to all three Guild Wars chapters as well as the Eye of the North expansion.

Why not pop in and try it out? We've got each Guild Wars chapter for sale, and they come with a free day pass, so you can spend some time progressing in the game.

Get in there quick! We now have the Halo 3 Beta available for play, on the plasma, in centre. Come in and check the out most eagerly anticipated game of the year! Try out the new weapons, new vehicles, and new features in Halo 3.

You told us that you wanted hot food and we listened.

After extensive reserach and numerous food tastings :-) we are pleased to announce that theaubergineroom has teamed up with Bon Apetit to bring you a varied selection of hot foods and snacks.

Baguettes and sausage rolls; toasted paninis; Chicken Tikka Masala or Beef Lasagne. What ever takes your fancy we have something for you. This is good quality food, with meat that tastes like proper meat and fresh vegetables. We only like to bring you the best and that is exactly what we have done here – come, try it for yourself and see.

ALSO, yes ALSO, we have a Pot Noodle machine. See the wonderful machine as it quickly and promptly fills,.. o, it's done already. Come down, buy a Pot Noodle and get it made at the Pot Stop!

If you want to liven up your chatting - and fancy winning some prizes - we now have a Trivia program running in our IRC channel #theaubergineroom on Quakenet.

Once you've joined the channel, type "!choose" to bring up a list of topics. Type the first word of the topic you want questions from, then type "!start (number)", where (number) is the number of questions you want for that round (eg. 20 for 20 questions).

Laugh at other people's spelling mistakes! Grind your teeth in frustration as your answer doesn't quite match up with the bot's!

Best of all, we'll be monitoring the scores, and prizes will be given out at the end of the month for the highest.

Mitch Gebbie is the rightful winner of the video competition for his use of stop motion and killing of Dilbert. So obviously good fun was had by all.

Mitch received his Jackass DVDs in style with poses to melt iron!

It's retro gaming time at theaubergineroom - pop in and check out the PSOne plugged into the plasma screen, with the greatest racing game ever - Wipeout!

Single player to head to head 2 player races - bring it on. Without Beach Boy's music or surfboards, sadly.

But it's not just big screen action. We've also got a VR headset - on Sunday mornings we'll be using it to play Wipeout like you've never seen it before.

Come in and have a go. With sufficient interest, we'll be looking to hold a late night Wipeout tournament - ask in the centre or post a reply here to register your interest.

Buying a new game only to find it sucks is bad enough. Subscribing to a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, only to find you don't like it, is even worse. You've had to get a credit card, give them your details, will they cancel it ..... *hassle*.

To help customers try out several online games and see what they're like, theaubergineroom has several shared accounts for use. Come in and play Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, or Neocron, without needing to sign up to a subscription or pay them any fees.
